The business started in 1965 as a one-person company under the name of Placmobili, in Pesaro.
It then grew and moved to Calcinelli; at this time the company produced hollow-cored wood panels and faced them with sliced veneer; the product then proceeded to the trimming, edging and perforation departments.
The company was growing and needed larger premises: in 1979 it moved to Bellocchi. This was the start of Prefabbricati Ricci, initially occupying 10,000 square metres. Over the years we have witnessed the development and growth of the faced chipboard panel, which has gradually become an important material, replacing the hollow-core panel. The business continued to grow: it doubled in size during the 90s to reach today’s approximate 20,000 square metres of production area and warehousing.
The company has always been owned by the same family; the current owners are the two sons of the founder, who died in 2011.
